Top class mare Typhoon Tracy has opened an odds-on $1.80 favourite on Centrebet to make a winning return to racing in Saturday’s feature Group 1 C. F. Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield!
The Peter Moody-trained flying front-runner has not started since destroying a class field in the Myer Classic over a mile on VRC Derby day at Flemington in the Spring, but is a naturally dominant fresh runner!
“She’s very good early, and in a field dominated by returning stayers, Typhoon Tracy can either work to the front and dictate, or take a sit right on the hammer of Danzylum. Either way, she looks terribly hard to roll,” Centrebet’s Neil Evans said.
He said returning weight-for-age galloper Heart of Dreams ($5.00), Railway and Kingston Town winner in WA Sniper’s Bullet ($8.00) and even first-up specialist and longer price hope Raffaello ($13.00) – having switched from the Cavanagh stable to the Marconi camp – loom as some hope at odds! But it was hard to see the big money going around Typhoon Tracy!
“Raffaello is a noted first-up runner at Caulfield and has trialled very well, so he rates as big each-way value at $13.00 on a track he likes,” Evans said.
The race looms as massive pointer to the Autumn, with Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, three-time Sandown Classic winner Zipping, Caulfield Cup victor Viewed and 2007 Australian Cup winner Sirmione all resuming!
